M.I.A 'Born Free' (NSFW!)

The internet is buzzing about M.I.A's newly-released extremely-graphic video for 'Born Free'. The video has already received widespread criticism and is so gruesome and politically-charged that YouTube pulled it from airing in the U.S.

Directed by Romain Gavras, the video shows U.S. soldiers rounding up redheaded men and boys and bussing them to the desert where they are brutally beaten and killed. Critics are assuming the short is a comment on the absurdity of genocide (M.I.A. lived through genocide in Sri Lanka) or a challenge to the idea of "other" in Arizona's immigration law.

What do you think about the intense video: does it reflect societal problems or is it too shocking for public viewing?
