Vada All Grown Up

Newcomer Anna Chlumsky played the title character in my all-time favorite feel-good movie, My Girl. While the spunky pre-teen stole hearts as a tomboy and hypochondriac living in a funeral home with her widowed father, she did not remain a mainstream Hollywood fixture. While well-known costars Jamie Lee Curtis, Macaulay Culkin and Dan Aykroyd continue to entertain audiences today, Chlumsky has been missing in action.

A Sunday night appearance at the opening of 'Promises, Promises' on Broadway brought Chlumsky out of the shadows and made me reminisce about my favorite childhood movie. Doesn't she look gorgeous?
