The addition of personal entertainment systems on Air Canada flights was perhaps the best thing to happen to travel. As a nervous flier, I appreciate the in-your-face-screen more than the average folk. I'm not just a film and television addict - I also rely on these systems to keep me occupied and distracted during the sleepless flights. Gravol just doesn't do it for me and entertainment is the only option for this A-Lister.
Now, our national carrier is introducing a special line of Canadian short film talent on Air Canada flights around the world. From August to November, passengers can enjoy the 12 selected shorts and cheer on the filmmakers as they vie for top prize as the
enRoute Film Festival. The festival will feature a star-studded jury, including
Beverly Hills 90210's Jason Priestly and Hollywood hotshot
Alan Cumming.

For those of you not planning on flying the blue skies this fall, don't fret about missing the films. A
free public screening will take place at Toronto's
Scotiabank Theatre on Wednesday, October 13 followed by an awards celebration at the always fabulous
Drake Hotel. No word yet on the possible appearance of the celebrity judges, but I'll definitely be looking out for my shining
90210 star.
