Fast Forward to 00:40
Taking the Jewish holidays to a whole new level, the Community Synagogue fused religion with pop culture in this hilarious video. The rabbi, cantor and executive committee of the Port Washington, New York synagogue made their annual "come to shul" pitch unique by singing a customized version of Lady Gaga's Telephone. While it's not likely that the Rosh Hashana Song will be adapted at other places of worship, it's interesting to see what the reform movement can do with a pop star and some well-planned harmonization. My machzor is already waiting to be read this year - is yours?
